Animal Rights in Ohio (Update) Ohio voters approved the constitutional amendment in yesterday’s election to create a Livestock Care Standards Board. It was supported by 64% of the voters, with 36% in opposition. Jim Animal Welfare Vote in Ohio Today is the day Ohio voters will hopefully approve a common sense approach to the animal treatment. They will vote on whether or not to approve a constitutional amendment to establish a 13 member Livestock Care Standards Board. This board would include family farmers as well as the state ag commissioner, vetrinarians, consumers and a representative of a local humane society. This would allow animal care regulations to be made locally instead of under the pressure and publicity of the Humane Society of the United States who has opposed the measure. Jim

Dont let the stress get you It is easy for me to say, I don't have wheat to plant, a great crop waiting in the field, cattle to move, and the pressures of being an involved father, BUT, take it from a guy who has been there. IT WILL ALL GET DONE, why not enjoy it along the way. The wheat that is planted looks amazing, the fall crop is the best most of us could ever imagine, most of us are healthy. BASK IN IT. Enjoy it. Marvel it. As a guy who has been on the other side when there was nothing to harvest, enjoy every bin full, every truck load. Wear your trucks out running to the bin and smile the whole way. It is a year you will talk about the rest of your life. Help everyone around you enjoy it too. Kyle Bauer |
