1-12-12. Today was Smalls' due date. The numbers would have been a memorable birth date, I suppose.
But Kinley Marie had other ideas. She decided on a 2011 arrival, so we've had the pleasure of her company for an extra two weeks.
We are already discovering the many faces of Kinley.
Hello, world! I'm ready for my 15 minutes of wakefulness. (Never heard of it? Me neither. But one of Jill's parenting books says to aim for 15 minutes of wakefulness after each feeding. Grandma is glad to do her part in trying to keep her awake.)
But a girl can stay awake only so long.
She has on her "I'm going to listen to everything Mommy says" face here. Let's hope it lasts in junior high.
How does 6 pounds of person have such an impact?
Who knew that watching someone breathe could be so fascinating?
To become a grandparent is to enjoy one of the few pleasures in life for which the consequences have already been paid.

Awww...congratulations Kim, she's beautiful. Being a grandma is definitely THE BEST. What a special blessing Kinley will be to your family. Jill will be such a good little mommy! :)

Thanks Lisa! I got spoiled last week getting to see Kinley every day. It was hard to leave yesterday. I look forward to my next visit and discovering more about this fascinating little person.
